Where did that phrase go?
“Like my Mom always said…you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” I love the idea of these nuggets of wisdom being cast into the ears of frustrated and stubborn children. (Are there any other kind of children? : ) What I don’t want my children to grow up saying is, “Like my Dad always said…when Coronavirus season is over…” Starting today, I am going to start instilling new Dad-isms during our “homeschooling” that will carry on for generations to come.
Here is what I’ve come up with so far:
- “Like my Dad always said…you buy low and sell high, but when you’re young you should always be buying.”
- “Like my Dad always said…you can either look rich, or be rich, but very few get to do both.”
- “Like my Dad always said…it never rains on the Imrichs!”
Maybe the third one needs a little work, but hopefully the Imrich lineage will be filled with a kind-hearted army of conscientious capitalists. If nothing else, the Imrich lineage will be filled with tons of Dad-isms they can laugh at for decades to come.
Happy Friday! Be healthy and stay safe!
